Photographs are representational by nature or expressive by design. Making an image, rather than taking it, requires delving into what images are and the vase information carried forward by visuals. Intent separates the occasional photographer from the concept-based artist who exposes the intellectual and emotional aspects of photographs to entice a response from the viewer. For the past decade, Cathy and I have been mentoring photographers at all levels of experience, emerging and established photographic artists, accompanying them in their varied creative journeys.
